The stage has been set for opening up the nuclear power sector for private participation with the Nuclear Power Corporation (NPC) mandating the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) to suggest changes in the Atomic Energy Act of 1962 and find a joint venture partner for the Rs 3,800-crore Kaiga atomic power project.
