Radiation threat looming

For the environmentally concerned people, there is a good as well as a bad news on ozone layer, which protects the earth from the dangers of ultraviolet (UV) rays. The good news is that the industralised countries have phased out most of their production and consumption of the mot widely used Ozone depleting chloroflurocarbons (CFCs) and provided more than $ 950 million to the fund established by the Montreal Protocol (1987) to assist developing countries in their phase out activities.
