The Rajasthan government's new water policy, approved by the state water resources council, provides for gradual increase in the present water charges, it was officially stated at Jaipur on Tuesday. It said the provision to increase water charges had been incorporated in the policy as per the similar provisions in the central water policy. The policy gives highest priority to drinking water followed by irrigaiton, power generation and industries.
