Rajasthan today joined the power reforms club in the country with the passage of the Rajasthan Power Sector Reforms Bill at the end of a heated, and at times acrimonious, daylong debate in the State Assembly. The new legislations is to facilitate constitution of an Electricity Regulatory Commission, besides helping the authorities to split the moribund Rajasthan State Electricity Board to three or more separate entities for power generation, transmisssion and distribution.
