The European Commission has agreed to provide a grant of Rs. 450 crores to Rajasthan as part of a State partnership programme for reforms in the water sector during the next six years. The EC will also render technical assistance to water user groups of Panchayati Raj institutions in the State till 2012-13. A six-member delegation of EC attended a presentation made by the State Government on the initiatives taken in the water sector and deliberated on the modalities of cooperation in water resources management constituting a vital component of the partnership programme here on Monday.
