Raman Govt on rural mass contact drive

A "Gram Suraj Yojna" will be undertaken in nearly 20,000 villages in tribal Chhattisgarh to assess the performance of various government-sponsored schemes and find out the problems being faced by the people of the state. Chief Minister Raman Singh, his ministerial colleagues, MLAs, chairpersons and members of the Zilla Panchayats and Janpad Panchayat, panch and sarpanch will take part in it. All the district officials and employees of the village and block-level government offices will organise a padayatra from May 2 to May 10 as part of the programme. They will spend nights in the villages and inform the people about the various development schemes and the status of the welfare projects. They will also try to find out about the problems being faced by the villagers. Efforts will be made to solve their problems immediately.
