reen power' to use woodchips

The State Government's business arm is proposing using woodchips from native forests in a string of new 'green power'' electricity plants across Victoria (Australia). In a prospectus released to potential investors last month, electricity generated from woodchips is promoted as 'green power'' from a renewable source. The proposal aims to capitalise on the Commonwealth greenhouse strategy, which requires electricity retailers to source an extra 2per cent of their power from renewable sources by 2010.
