The Centre has advised the Assam Government to restructure the State Electricity Board (SEB) to identify the problems faced by it. In course of his recent three day visit to the region, the Union Power Minister, Mr. P.R. Kumaramangalam, told presspersons that the State Government had been given two options: Either to corporatise the electricity board or to divide it into three heads, namely generation, transmission and distribution.
