The Hindu organisations in Kerala headed by Swami Satyananda Saraswathi have joined with the BJP to launch an agitation to restore the rights of a disputed dam in Pampa river at Pathanamthitta in the central part of the state. A Pampa Vimochana Samiti has been formed which has announced a deadline of 15 June for the Kerala government to demolish the dam which, allegedly , prevents the water from flowing to the Parthasarathy temple one kilometre down. The disputed dam site is the convention centre of the Christians belonging to Mar Thoma order. If the dam is not brought down and riverflow is not restored, we will launch a Karseva similar to the one Ayodhya had witnessed, the Samiti has announced. The state government has pledged that it would protect the dam and surrounding areas at all costs.
