In order to enable Delhi to meet the international expectations in view of Commonwealth Games 2010, the City Government has estimated a whopping Rs 1400 crore budget for the mega event. A major chunk of the budget would go into the infrastructure upgradation on all fronts - from civic amenities to the world transportation facilities including flyovers. The budgetary estimate was made at a high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday. Finance and Urban Development Minister Dr AK Walia was also present in the meeting. "The estimated budget for the Commonwealth Games could be between Rs 1200 to Rs 1400 crore," an official said.
