A sum of Rs 2,29,25,394 was sanctioned for the Lakhimpur district under the Assam Sarba Siksha Abhijan Mission. This was disclosed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the district, Ibrahim Ali, while he was addressing the Block Elementary Education Officers (BEEO), officers of the Sarba Siksha Abhijan Mission, members of the Zilla Parishad, Anchalik panchayat, gaon panchayat presidents and members, in a meeting held at the office premises of the District Commissioner. The meeting was organized to discuss the activities of the ASSAM. The ADC also said that a sum of Rs 2.5 lakh has sanctioned to re-build of some of the school buildings which are in a miserable condition.
