To generate employment in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh and to develop entrepreneurial skills among the rural unemployed youth, Rs 250 crore will be invested under the Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP), a wing of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), during the current financial year. In UP as many as 3691 projects are proposed to be set up in which 40,601 unemployed persons of rural areas would get jobs.
