The water tanker lumbers slowly into a South Delhi colony and suddenly the slumbering, quiet street is abuzz with activity. Everyone tries to direct the tanker towards his house. The man in charge pulls out a long hose pipe, attaches it to the Syntax tank and asks, "How much?" Like a car being filled at a petrol pump. As soon as the tank is filled the pipe is promptly removed. Not a drop spills over. This is the scene outside several colonies in the city, especially South Delhi, where the hottest selling commodity nowadays is water. It is being sold by the carefully measured "litres" by none other than employees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi or the DDA or the Jal Board.
