Rs 3,154 crore aid for five crisis ridden States

With most States running into deep fiscal crisis, the Union Finance Ministry announced medium team loans for five crisis ridden states to fund their 'opening deficit'. The total assistance being extended works out to Rs 3,154 crores. As the Ministry's decision, Rs 878 crores will be extended to West Bengal, Rs 750 crores to Assam, Rs 672 crores to Orissa, Rs 463 crores to Rajasthan and Rs 371 crores to Manipur.
