The Union Government is likely to provide Rs 400 crore financial assistance to Bihar under the Development Reform Facility (DRF). In a bid to get the Bihar package cleared, four Union Ministers from Bihar, Nitish Kumar, Sharad Yadav, C P Thakur and Shatrughan Sinha had called on the Planning Commission Deputy Chairman KC Panth in the last week of May. The Union Government, besides the regular Plan allocation, had provided a special package of Rs 800 crore to Bihar under the Development Reform Facility for bridging up the infrastructural gaps caused by the creation of Jharkhand.
