Rs 53 million allocated for rural areas

A chunk of Rs 53 million out of Rs 122 million funds under Drought Emergency Relief Assistance (DERA) Programme would be spent on development of rural parts of Karachi. (Pakistan). The funds has not been released by Sindh Government due to refusal of Finance Department and later by Accountant General Office Sindh without assigning any reason in written to City District Government Karachi (CDGK), the execution agency of the projects. Sources said that CDGK took up the matter with Provincial Planning & Development, who referred the matter to Finance Department, which resolved the matter by releasing revised sanction of the amount of Rs.53.00 million.
