Study : The mythological river Saraswati existed in the Thar Desert before completely drying up around 1,000 years ago, according to an ongoing study. The river, which finds mention in Rig Veda, originated in the Himalayas and passed through desert areas of northern and western Rajasthan, Central Ground Water Authority chairman D K Chadha said, quoting tentative conclusions drawn from a project.
