As the United States continues its debate over late-term abortions, four states moved last week toward banning the procedure. In Florida, the Senate, following similar House action the week before, voted to override Governor Lawton Chiles's veto of a ban on a type of late-term abortion that opponents call a partial-birth abortion. Abortion-rights advocated vowed to challenge the ban in court.
