SHILLONG, March 29: After consistent plea before the Supreme Court on extraction of limestone from Shella-Nongtrai areas of Meghalya, the apex court today said that the project cannot be allowed to continue without a valid environmental clearance and that Lafarge should conduct EIA study afresh. The Court accepted plea of the Shella Action Committee. The petition filed by Shella Action Committee challenging the Lafarge Mining operations at Shella and Nongtrai came up for hearing on Monday.
