The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a special leave petition against a Karnataka High Court judgment refusing to quash, on ecological grounds, the clearance granted by the Union environment ministry to the Cogentrix thermal power project in the state. The power project, at Nandikur in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada, is being set up in collaboration with Cogentrix Inc of the US.
