Schemes worth Rs. 1752 crore of 34 districts sanctioned under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme

Bhopal : Thirty-two schemes of 34 districts of Madhya Pradesh worth Rs. 1752 crore have been sanctioned under Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification scheme. Under the scheme, 395 non-electrified villages have been electrified. Besides, intense electrification has been undertaken in 13 thousand 389 villages where free connections have been given to 4 lakh 83 thousand below poverty line beneficiaries so far. Moreover, schemes of 16 districts of the state have been forwarded for approval to Rural Electrification Corporation.
The 34 districts for which schemes worth Rs. 1752 crore include Ashok Nagar, Guna, Chhindwara, Damoh, Jabalpur, Seoni, Indore, Ujjain, Betul, Harda, Morena, Datia, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Anuppur, Balaghat, Chhatarpur, Dindori, Katni, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Panna, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh, Umaria, Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur and Ratlam.
Similarly, the State Government has forwarded schemes for rest of 16 districts of the
state for approval under the second phase to Rural Electrification Scheme. These include Bhind, Bhopal, Gwalior, Hoshangabad, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sehore, Vidisha, Barwani, Burhanpur, Dewas, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandsaur, Neemuch and Shajapur districts.
