Scientists unravel how HIV infects

In a breakthrough that could aid the development of an AIDS vaccine, US researchers have discovered one of the ways HIV infects the body, the latest issue of the Science magazine reports. For HIV to enter a cell, glycoprotein GP120 , which is found on the surface of the virus, must interact with a receptor or co-receptor, such as the common CCR5, on the target cell.
