Members from each major party in Scotland's new parliament yesterday said they would take part in a new commission to study how Scotland can tap the power of ocean waves for electricity. The Commission for Wave Power in Scotland will be made up of five members of the new parliament, electricity suppliers, wave energy experts and members of the Scottish Trades Union Congress. The commission, launched by environmental group Greenpeace, will study how Scotland can tap a market that experts said is worth 20 billion pounds ($32 billion) in the United Kingdom alone and 500 billion pounds worldwide. The commission will report its findings to the Scottish parliament early next year.
