Rising fuel costs and energy shortages have put the shine back on wind power generation in Tamil Nadu, which has over 72 per cent of the installed capacity in the country. After suffering a setback in 1997-98 when a meagre 30 megawatts of capacity was added, the Tamil Nadu Electricy Board (TNEB) has already got enquiries for setting up about 100 MW of generation capacity in the current year.
