Sethusamudram will have no adverse environmental impact on Lanka - Fowzie

Sri Lankan Environment and Natural Resources Minister A.H.M.Fowzie said that he has been assured by an Indian Government official that their government will ensure that the Sethusamudram Canal Project will not cause any adverse environmental impacts on Sri Lanka. Addressing a forum of experts at the Auditorium of the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLASS) in Colombo, Minister Fowzie added that Indian scientists have undertaken a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment of the Project and that they would share their findings with Sri Lanka. The seminar was organized by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
