Sewage from London and surronding areas is to be turned into electricity under a new deal to promote renewable energy. Tharmes Water, which supplies water to almost 12 million customers in London and the Thames Valley has formed a joint venture with the Renewable Energy Company, Europe's largest supplier of "green" to market electricity generated at 22 sewage treatment works throughout the Thames region.
