A month ahead of a three-day special Maharashtra Legislature Session convened to seek a Vote-on-Account, the Sushil Kumar Shinde Government unveiled development packages, collectively amounting to Rs 888,28 crore, for Marathwada and Konkan regions. While the Marathwada package is worth Rs 588.28 crore, the Konkan package amounts to Rs 300 crore. The two packages are along the lines of a Rs 750-crore-worth development package announced for the backward Vidarbha region by the Maharashtra Government during the Winter Session of the State Legislature.
