The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has initiated a study to determine the impact of the proposed removal of administered price mechanism (APM) on fuels with effect from April ,1 2002. Mr Seshasayee told newspersons during an informal interface here that the choice of fuel in the post-APM regime would greatly depend upon its price. It would be imperative upon the Government to ensure that the transition to greener fuels is smooth. The effort, however, should be on moving towards less polluting fuels.s Globally, several Governments were in favour of subsidizing less polluting fuels.
