A 50 kw solar photovoltaic power plant, set up by public sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (Bhel) in the far-flung Kadmat island of Lakshwadweep, has started functioning.With the commissioning of the state-of-the-art eco-friendly plant, the power situation in the Kadmat island would get a boost, a Bhel statement said yesterday.
