South Africa's constructed wetlands - designed for the natural treatment of domestic wastewater - show a general lack of understanding of wetlands systems and enjoy limited success in terms of their design objectives.These were some of the findings of a study commissioned to compare international and local use of wetlands constructed to clean dirty water.
