Power plants will be required to set and mandatorily comply with their own environment-friendly emission norms. A notification to this effect is in the offing.A special fund is also proposed to be set up in the power sector to take appropriate measures so that power sector activities do not harm the environment.This will be on the lines of the special fund to be created by the environment and forests ministry.
