On a day when Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had a string of meetings with the Union ministers, Karnataka suffered twin setbacks as the Urban Development Ministry refused to entertain its plea to include Hubli-Dharwad in the JNNURM, while the Forests and Water Resources Ministries have asked the State to stop work on the Kalasa-Bandurinala project to supply water to the twin cities. The Union Environment as well as Water Resources ministries have directed the Karnataka government to stop work on the controversial Kalasa-Bandurinala project across Mahadayi river.
