States vie for increased Nabard core sector fund

With the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) gradually increasing fund allocation under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) scheme, competition among states is heating up to grab greater share of fund to improve rural infrastructure. Though most of the states have now become savvy enough to chalk out project proposals to draw fund under RIDF schemes, there are some states like Jharkhand, Mizoram and Manipur, which despite their backwardness in creating rural infrastructure, are even found wanting to draw up plans for rural projects.
