About 3 per cent population of Northern India suffers from stone diseases. The stone diseases are higher in northern part of the country as compared to the southern parts. Incidence of stone formation is higher in the states of Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi and Gujarat as compared to other parts of the country.
