Study sees lack of vision on development

The absence of a consensus on the issues of development as well as on the development induced displacement and rehabilitation (DIDR) in India is all about a "zero sum game'' which the opposing parties continue to play to the detriment of the nation. There is no common vision of what is development and what "the good life'' should be for the average Indian while there is widespread cynicism on the political system and its capacity -- as well as sincerity -- to deliver, a Rhodes University study on the DIDR in India noted.
