The much hyped NABARD sponsored Rs. 230 crore project to install one lakh shallow tube wells(STWs) to bring about a green revolution in Assam is likely to end in a whimper as a sizable number of STWs are found to have been smuggled to Bangladesh and various places of North Bengal which otherwise are meant to be installed in the paddy fields of the Assam.
