As many as 60 sugar cooperatives, all politically controlled, are now moving towards generating 900-1000 MW of electricity using baggasse as fuel.Most of these expect to produce enough power to meet their requirements and feed the balance into the power starved grid of the Maharashtra State Electricity Board(MSEB).
