The four-day Energy Summit '98 organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, beginning tomorrow can well be a milestone in the evolution of the power sector in the country. Being held at a time when many States are reeling under a crisis - either because of the floods or a genuine power shortage - it can help put the electricity sector on a 'fast-forward' mode.
