Support for energy tax grows

The prospect of an energy tax on business grew closer after the idea was endorsed by the UK government taskforce investigating ways of reducing business emissions of greenhouse gases. "My conclusion is that there probably is a role for a tax if businesses of all sizes and from all sectors are to contribute to improved energy efficiency and help meet the UK's emissions targets," said Lord Marshall, chairman of British Airways, who headed the taskforce.
