Swedish and Russian soldiers will next week start work on cleaning up a 15-year-old oil spill at a once-secret Russian nuclear missile base near the Baltic city of Ostrov. The project is being co-ordinated by the Green Cross, an international environmental group whose president is Mikhail Gorbachev, the former Soviet leader.
