The Swiss government postponed setting up a deadline for shutting the country's five nuclear power plants, asking instead of a compromise on the issue. The Federal Council, or cabinet, said the plants would be decommissioned at some point but asked their owners, enviornmental critics and local communities to agree on when to do it.
