The International Energy Agency (IEA) warned Switzerland that its commitment to cutting greenhouse gas emissions by 8 per cent over the next decade would be in "very dire trouble" if it phased out its nuclear power stations. The agency also told Switzerland to "intensify and speed up" deregulation of its electricity and natural gas markets, noting that Switzerland had the highest industrial electricity prices in Europe.
