Jordan said Syria would begin pumping water to the parched kingdom in a gesture of goodwill to cement a recent improvement in ties. Kamel Mahadeen, Jordan's minister of water, said Syrian officials notified him they would start pumping water into the Yarmouk River on their joint border.
