The NTPC's 1,000-mw Talcher super thermal power plant is all set to emerge as the largest power generating until in the country with another 2,000-MW unit slated for installation at this World Bank funded Central power project. This is the only power project, which is wheeling large blocks of power to nine states including Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
