The Union Home Minister, Mr Shivraj Patil, has welcomed the formation of a forum of parliamentarians from the North-East to pursue the development initiatives of the region and stressed the need for proper utilisation of rich "genetic resources' of the area. Plenty of resources available in the region particularly genetic wealth would have to be utilised.
