The Annual Plan outlay of Tamil Nadu for 2005-06 has been settled at Rs 9,100 crore, up 13.75% from the approved outlay of Rs 8,001 crore for the previous year. "This major step-up in the Plan outlay puts Tamil Nadu on the road to achieving its targeted 10th Plan outlay of Rs 40,000 crore,' state government sources said. The Plan outlay in 2005-06 focuses on power sector with an outlay of Rs 1,362.36 crore, road infrastructure Rs 1,505.66 crore, agriculture and allied activities Rs 641.11 crore, rural development Rs 907.80 crore, irrigation Rs 425.00 crore and social services, including education and health Rs 3,687.64 crore.
