Residents of Tannery Road, Bangalore are facing a severe problem of potable water supply due to various defaulting tanneries which are contaminating the local borewell and the BWSSB sewers with untreated hazardous sludge. Borewell water in the area has become progressively saltier and citizens have to buy their drinking water at Rs 2 per "koda" from a cycle water vendor.
