Tarbela water 're-allocation' seen as threat to cotton crop: IRSA meeting today

The Punjab reportedly learnt on Thursday that the Indus River System Authority had curtailed to less than a half its share of irrigation supplies from Tarbela for May 1 to May 10. The report that the province would get 6,000 cusecs water for the period instead of its minimum share of 14,900 cusecs according to an earlier IRSA decision, IRSA members, its chairman and their counterparts in Sindh to explain the grave harm the decision would do to the sowing of cotton crop, especially in Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan districts of Pakistan.
