The proposed capacity addition target of 1,00,000 mw by 2012 is not just dependant on setting up of new greenfield power projects in the country. According to power minister Surest Parch, even if the IPP projeects fail to add much to the targeted capacity addition, as was expected from the private sector, the country can still meet the one lake capacity addition target fixed for 2012.
