The Planning Commission will set up a task force to chart a co-ordinated response to rural industrialisation and promotion of rural technology. Announcing this, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman K C Pant said though many institutions were working for the development of rural technology, the outreach had been limited. Making the announcement at the conclusion of a meeting to review the progress achieved in promotion of rural technology, Pant said a co-ordinated mechanism would address rural technology in a holistic manner and would also help in poverty alleviation
